Note: All teams in this division will play doubleheaders on certain weekends to enable each team to play every team with-in this division

 

Rules

·         MHSAA rules except:

·         Intermediate sized (28.5 in.) ball.

·         Timeouts: Same as MHSAA 3 Full, 2(20)

·         Shall consist of (4) 8-minute quarters. A running clock shall occur whenever the score of the game has a difference of 20 points and shall resume to normal after the score returns to a 15 point difference

·         Overtime: 2 minute quarter with an additional timeout per each overtime period

·         Foul Line

o   12 foot for 5th grade (Home team to tape off floor),

o   Standard foul line for 6th grade.

·         Pressing – Before the games remind the referees of these rules, because this a non MHSAA rule.

o   Half court pressing is allowed throughout the game.

o   Full court pressing must stop if you are a head by 15 points or more.

o   5th grade Boys – full court press only in the Fourth quarter.  Prior to the fourth quarter once possession is established team must fall back to half court.

o   6th grade Boys may press anytime

o   5th-6th girls 4th quarter only

o   Violation of press rules - two warnings and then a technical foul on the bench.

·         3-point line is in effect.

·         Playing Time – League Recommendation

o   Be equal through the first three quarters. 

o   Fourth quarter is at the coach’s discretion. 

o    Missing practices can affect playing time in the first three quarters.

·         Practices – are limited to 3 hours per week.  This is an honor system.  Be respectful of the rules to your team, parents, and the league.

 

Coaches: Two coaches shall be allowed on the bench during games. Scorekeepers shall only keep the book and not serve as additional coaches. Teams not following this rule shall be assessed a technical foul and the team in violation will lose there right for a scorekeeper. The scorekeeper in violation shall be removed form the bench area to the opposite side of the gym.

 

Ejections: If a player, coach or spectator is ejected from a contest they will be suspended from the next contest. A second offense shall result in removal from the league for the remainder of the season. The host site is responsible to report this to the league. Officials shall file an incident report to the host site. This shall be completed in 24 hours and turned in to the league director. If a player, coach or spectator is removed from any league tournament or league sponsored tournament the will not be eligible for the remainder of the tournament.

 

·         Continued disregard of rules or disrespectful conduct by a coach or parents could result in removal of team from the league.  Our goal and concept is to teach the children not winning at all or any cost.

 

Results

Results of all weekly games shall be emailed to your community coordinator so that the weekly standings maybe updated.
